VIGNETTE Editions

is an independent publishing company founded in Oxford, England, by the best-selling author, Liz Fraser.

It specialises in short works of literary fiction and non-fiction, with a particular focus on short stories, travel writing, memoir and essays.

Vignette Editions was created to give a platform to writers whose work might otherwise struggle to find a home in traditional or larger publishing houses;
to nurture and champion exciting new writing voices and talent, and to give already established writers a place for greater freedom in both content and style.

We publish distinctive writing voices and literary works that resist easy categorisation, and which may be overlooked elsewhere as being too experimental, too short or tricky to classify and market, yet possess a strong narrative vision and voice that readers will love.

Memoir that might include real diary entries or photographs, fiction informed by lived experience, travel writing, essays, hybrid forms and books that exist between or straddle genres.
Carefully selected, curated and produced in-house, Vignette’s immediately recognisable covers and niche list of authors will form a timeless library of words and stories that might otherwise not see the light of day.

We are honoured and delighted to give them a life on paper.

Vignette Editions will publish both single-author works and anthologies, and works by foreign-language authors translated into English.

We are currently hand-selecting our titles, and there are no submissions open.

However, if you have a finished piece of work that you feel fits the Vignette mould and wish to express an interest, you are welcome to use the form here.

Thank you.
